The Medicine Hat Ringette Association does not encourage the movement of players into any division other than their designated age division determined by their year of birth. However, MHRA realizes that occasionally there may be circumstances that warrant movement to another age division.
Procedure:
When a division is tiered with two or more levels, a player may request to be evaluated for the highest level team of the age group above.
If applying from a younger tiered division, a $150 non-refundable fee must follow this request, and be submitted to any member of the Evaluations Committee before the Player Advancement Deadline as posted on the official MHRA website.
A player in this situation will need to make the top 2 of the "ranked" portion (see below), of the tiered team being evaluated for, and cannot be coaches pick.
Requests to play down to a lower division do not require an additional fee.
A letter must accompany all requests from the parents giving reasons for the request, with additional supporting documentation accompanying the request if applicable.
Requests must be submitted using this form by August 15th, 2023 @ 11:59pm. The $150 fee must be paid to the MHRA Treasurer in order for this request to be considered (for requests to move up only).
